However, while the mainstream media and tons of fans are praising this, I've noticed a problem: they seem to be completely ignoring the black lesbian couple of Mother Hen and her wife.

Mother Hen has been a major character since the first season and her marriage and family life are part of the plot. Her wife, Karen, played by Tracy Tombs, is also a major character. However, in many discussions, this couple seems to be completely ignored. This is not only an unfair treatment of these two characters, but also a stereotyping and simplification of the Cooler story line in the episode.

This situation is a reflection of a broader problem in which the representation of cool characters in the media tends to focus on white characters while ignoring the presence and importance of ethnically cool characters of color.
